Visiting Birmingham is the legendary iconic artist Visiting Birmingham is the legendary iconic artist Brim.  When Graffiti was in its infancy here in the UK, as a nation we were learning about this new and very exciting culture born in the Bronx.

As we learned about there were some very key artists that came over to the UK in those very early days. T -Kid was one and another was this man.  Featured in the two landmark films, Dick Fontaine Beat This! a Hip Hop history  and later the film Bombin that help project Goldie as an artist.

He was there from the beginning, For those not so familiar with Graff history, here is someone that knew interacted with the likes of Andy Warhol, Keith Herring, Basquiat.  That was just a small part of his story.

Since I met him he’s been a supporter, adviser and great friend.  He would and still tell me you are good artist, great photographer, film maker and producer but you are terrible at selling.

You own 100% of nothing.   I have been very protective of my work.  I could look to blame and have blamed in the past the lack of media and organisations that have failed me in the past and to be honest I tried too and didn't get the call backs.

It has been the artists my piers that believed in me and a small number of people within the community that really been there for me.  I appreciate all of those.

Thanks to all those that take the time out for me.

Thanks to @gent48 for the picture
One of the most iconic and influential artists eve One of the most iconic and influential artists ever. One of the most memorable scenes of a very young man running accross the train line looking the most new york anyone can possibly be is this man.

Aside from all that he has done within the culture this man has gone on to do incredible things that he does share his knowledge and experience with me and others.

Once i can get out this funk im in at the moment i hope i match his get up and go. Yes i am making excuses i just got to put a few into place which are little closer to home.
When one of, the most influencial graff artists in When one of, the most influencial graff artists in the world comes to town. As hip hop was emerging and becoming a culture this man was right there.

Featured in the movie Hip Hop History. The british made film that so many documentaries borrow so much footage. The movie 'bombin'. Another British made movie that followed the man above and introduced briitsh Artist Goldie to the world.

In a time where in the uk we craved for any information to explore to learn more about this movent these two film in which @brim1tatscru

I dont really know if his fellow Americans really fully inderstand his place and influence.. His significance in this artform.

I personally wish and admire his will. His drive and his actioning of his ideas. People thinl i have something but the truth is i have nothing on his work ethics and mindset. This is a great man and not the man he was when he was a young man.

Brim a very observing and honest man.
Massive thank you to everyone who came down and su Massive thank you to everyone who came down and supported Urban Village on its final weekend.

After 30 incredible years of trading and supplying some of the best vintage clothing to the people of Birmingham and beyond, yesterday they closed the doors of their final shop in Henley-in-Arden. It's the end of an era ( or is it?) Time will tell.

I'm truly grateful that they asked me to provide the soundtrack for their final weekend. It was an honour to be part of such a special occasion. A huge thank you to everyone who made the effort to come along after reading my post or blog—it genuinely meant a lot.

Special thanks to a few people who made the journey:

John Muckle, one of the few people who consistently made the effort to come to my gigs at Hockley Social Club.

My old school friend Matt Palmer, who shared my passion for great music and records from the day we met at High school.

To Keith McKenzie, who's been around since we were teenagers. Some friendships don't need explaining—they just stand the test of time.

Steffan Taylor from Hockley Social Club that passed through for a dig.

A huge thanks to Naz & Andeline who made the trip. Henley in Arden means a lot to us three. I really appreciate you passing through. Naz thanks for the Picture

To my old work colleagues and great friends, Marzena and Ivan. Marzena is not only a brilliant photographer but also an incredibly talented jeweller, and we've worked together on so many creative projects over the years. A real family friend.

And thanks to some of my colleagues from my current role in education who came along to experience the shop. It's always nice when different parts of your life cross over.

I can not forget wifey Cristina who not only came out to support on Sunday but filled in for me for those ever so important toilet breaks and letting me get of the turntables to take some pics. You did great on those turntables and of course taking those pictures.

Although the clothing shop has now closed, the record shop remains open, and it's still one of those places that deserves your support. Independent record shops aren't just shops—they're meeting places, archives, classrooms and little sanctuaries f
