Not so long ago, Tha 4orce officially launched his Mind the Gap: Special Edition 25 Years album at the iconic Brixton’s Chip Shop in London.
The free daytime event gave fans the opportunity to meet the man himself, pick up a copy of the brand-new double LP, and celebrate a project brought to life solely through the collaboration between Tha 4orce and BBE Music.
Running from 1pm until 7pm, the event delivered an intimate and authentic experience for supporters of UK Hip Hop.
The timing wasn’t without its challenges. The launch took place on the same weekend as Roots Picnic, drawing many music fans elsewhere. Despite that, a dedicated crowd still made the journey to Brixton’s Chip Shop, with visitors travelling from across the UK and even as far as Canada passed through to check out the event and experience the unique atmosphere of the venue before heading off to see the Roots.
Providing the soundtrack throughout the day was a great lineup of DJs. I had the pleasure of opening proceedings, followed by Imantus. Tha 4orce then took to the decks himself, showcasing tracks from the new album before handing over to one of the UK’s most respected Hip Hop DJs, the internationally renowned DJ Pogo of the En4cers, who brought the event to a fitting close.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who came through, supported the launch, and spent the day with us. Events like this only happen because of the passion and dedication of the community.
Tha 4orce continues to stand as one of the finest representatives of UK Hip Hop. An accomplished producer, performer, and ambassador for the culture, he has consistently delivered music of the highest calibre throughout his career.
