It made my day today when i saw this video from Rob Swift, featuring his mentor Dr Butcher, Drew to his friends.  Ive known Drew for a few years. Listening to Rob who’s known him from the early days I think this video really is great humble piece. Those that have had the pleasure to know Drew will share Robs feelings.

Drew has really supported me and my work.  Motivated and really pushed me to continue making my films.   Enjoy this film.

This is by far my favorite track by the crew. Sparkii Ski produced a monster beat on this.  Pay attention to the Drum programming.  This is a lesson in beat making.  Grazz Hoppa is on the cut only makes the track sound 10 times tougher.   If the rest of the album sounds like this, i think they are onto a great thing.

I  heard this, this morning via DJ Too Tuff.  This mix is from 1986.  Reminds me why i used to be glued to radio listening to pirate radio shows, we craved to hear something new.

Although this is from 1986, this is the first time I heard it.  Check out MC Mechanism, this guy is sick.  Reminds me of LL – Mikey D. Great rhymes voice and delivery.  Next month Along side 4orce and Andy Higgs we are heading out to see Too Tuff.   Its been long long overdue.  I firmly believe hes one of the most un-talked about Programmers from the Golden Era.  Looking forward to meeting him and shooting some footage.

The Kotb team have just returned from Maurizio TheNextOnes annual birthday celebration THE AGE OF AQUARIOUS.  A event that not only marks the mans born day, but also celebrates Italian Hip Hop culture.

Not only does the event attract fans and crews from all over Italy it draws people on global scale.  Unsponsored unfunded this is a meeting of minds.  From the old to to the young.

Cat Twenty Two, has been involved in the Graffiti scene since 1977. A serious record collector to say the least.  This event say B-Boys, Graffiti Artists, Diggers, DJs and M.Cs come together.  DJ Babyfunk from Osaka Japan surprised everyone with her skills on the turntables.  Check out the pictures the event was rammed.  Not something ive seen in the UK for a good while.  Not a commercial record played.

Once again Obie takes the KING OF THE BEATS TITTLE.  Smashing it with a track sampling the godfather of soul James Brown.  Other bangers were produced by KBC who’s second beat was a monster.  Reminded me of the back beats used in so many of the classic Stretch Armstrong shows.  Brasa returned with a great track.

Tales of the Dark side, a trip into the exotic, movie scores an alternative to the breakbeat battles that you know off.  Personal favorites FAT FAT and Jayking.

Sparkii Ski performed along side Jazz player Joel Holmes in a improvised set. Reminded me of the very good gigs that people pay good money to see at London’s Jazz Cafe

Another great video from the FUSE team.  Lord Finesse.  One of the greatest to ever do it. Over 10 years ago i went to his place to shoot a video. He is one of the most humble artists i know.  He’s supported my work from the get go.

Recently we met up again in the UK for his promotional tour for his up coming Album.  Alongside DJ Boogie Blind, it was one of those shows that if you wasn’t there you missed something special.

He knows his place in the scene, he knows who is audience is. and he delivers nothing but in my opinion the tightest and most seamless show from any artist out there right now.  If you do get a chance to see him perform make sure you do not miss it.

Since 1984 Pritt Kalsi has been involved in Graffiti Art.  Over the years his interest in music and film occupied most of his time.   When ever he had the time Pritt would take on some exciting art projects.

In 2012 KOTB almost came to a end as Pritt dealt with his illness.  To help relaunch the label and much needed investment into his new project.  We decided to run a limited edition 100 only Prints from some of his works.  Originally painted on canvas with Spray Cans.  All hand numbered and signed by the artist.

Purchasing them from the site, you are getting the print only. To help save your money on postage packaging the prints are designed to fit the IKEA Ribba Range frame.

Team KOTB

Over the last few years where ever ive been this mans name crops up.  DJ Boogie Blind. The funny thing is that back in 2002 we was in NYC working on the Men & Their Music. Casz my original film partner was over at Sugarcuts place where they were introduced to this DJ named Boogie Blind.

He was like Pritt this guy is sick.  He’s gonna be the next big thing from NYC.  Forward to 2009 im in NYC and everyone im working with is talking about him.  2012 all I do is bump into him every month here in the UK.  Firstly he’s a dope guy.  With pure honest love for this culture.  Like my self he’s thrown him self into the deep end.   We worked on some videos alongside members of the DITC crew.

He blessed me with this mix..sit back and enjoy

This weekend see’s the annual return of the AGE OF AQUARIOUS Jam.  From what i’m told this event is free.   Hip Hop fans from all over the world will be there.
